PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer material transport guide mechanism, in which a satisfactory transfer image can be obtained by hindering image blurs, image shrinkage, etc., using a simple structure, when a transfer material fed upwardly from a pair of registration rollers is guided to a transfer nip. SOLUTION: When a transfer material is conveyed upward by the pair of registration rollers 12, the direction in which the transfer material is conveyed is smoothly altered in the direction of a transfer nip 16 by the elasticity of an elastic sheet 15, which is located on the photoreceptor drum side of a pair of guide plates 14a and 14b, without causing the transfer material to collide with a photoreceptor drum 5.
