PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact mechanism, automatically drawing a sheet storing cassette into an apparatus body even during non-energizing time. SOLUTION: In the course of inserting the sheet storing cassette 6 into the apparatus body, a rack 13 fitted to the sheet storing cassette 6 meshes with an intermediate gear 14 of a cassette carrying means 16. The intermediate gear 14 meshes with a partly missing gear 18 fitted with a toggle spring 17. The rack 13 and the intermediate gear 14 mesh with each other a little before the neutral state of the toggle spring 17, and further the sheet storing cassette 6 is inserted to cause the toggle spring 17 to pass the neutral state, thereby rotating the partly missing gear 18 so that the drive is transmitted to the rack 13 through the intermediate gear 14 to automatically draw the sheet storing cassette 6 in a loading position.
