PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorbing fence which is excellent in sound absorbing properties, and which makes a sound insulated by a backside plate material so as to be hardly leaked to the backside. SOLUTION: In this fence where supports erected at proper intervals on the ground surface are equipped with a panel, the panel is composed of a pair of plate materials which are provided at a proper interval, and horizontal muntins which are provided at the upper and lower edges of the plate material; the backside plate material comprises a base which is composed of a synthetic resin, and metallic plates which are provided on the front side and backside of the base; the front-side plate material is composed of a porous body; a sound absorbing material is provided between the front-side and backside plate materials; and the sound transmitted through the front-side plate material can be absorbed by the sound absorbing material.
