PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce streak noise on a print image caused by the misalignment of the position where a toner image overlaps, enhance the quality of printing, improve the printing speed and save memory so that printing can start just because the image in a part of one page is developed, and make easier the control of the printer so as to keep the same vertical scanning speed or interval when printing high resolutions as that when printing low resolutions. SOLUTION: A color printer is provided with a print engine receiving each dot information of several-color images constituting a color image and generating the color images by drawing and overlapping the several-color images with an electric picture method and an image processing circuit developing respective several-color image constituting the color image into bit map data on the memory and reading the developed several-color bit map data from the memory, converting it into dot information and providing it to the print engine. An image processing circuit divides at least one-color image among the several-color images into several (N) parts and the N-part bit map data into two times or more of drawing cycles of the print engine, converting it into the dot information and sending it to the print engine.
