The unit has a polymer actuator (15) with a polymer layer, and electrode layers that border both sides of the actuator. The actuator is adaptively matched to certain definite optical compatibility conditions i.e. deformation conditions, by impressing an electric field on the actuator. The actuator has a suspension (24) for the installation of the unit, where the suspension is formed flexibly and has a spiral spring and a flexible hinge. An independent claim is also included for a utilization of an optical unit including a polymer actuator.
