The connecting element (1) for the connecting of an exhaust pipe (2) to an exhaust gas turbocharger (3) has a bend (4) which is axially movable on the exhaust pipe. The connecting element lies upon a flange (5) of the bend and compensates for a lateral offset between the turbocharger and the bend. The connecting element has a spring (6) for the elastic pretensioning of the connecting element in relation to the bend. The connecting element has screws (7) for the fixing of the connecting element to the flange and the spring geometry defines the pretensioning force.
