There is provided a recording control device capable of performing ripping in accordance with user's taste. A recorder R which performs ripping by detecting information recorded on a CD and recording it on an HD includes: an input unit (7) for inputting a permission attribute which is an attribute of the information as an object to be permitted for ripping; and a CPU (3) which detects attribute information indicating the attribute of the information to be ripped actually, judges whether the attribute indicated by the attribute information detected coincide with the aforementioned permission attribute, and executes ripping if they coincide.
