<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte film used for a polymer electrolyte type fuel cell, capable of restraining leakage current caused by crossovers, even deterioration under severe conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte film can be obtained from a nanocomposite polymer electrolyte containing at least 70 to 99.9 wt% of polymer electrolyte and 0.1 to 30 wt% of inorganic laminar compound.
