DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE AND LUMINAIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out illumination with both a discharge lamp and a light emitting diode illumination body; and to annunciate an end of life of the discharge lamp when the discharge lamp comes into the end of life.

SOLUTION: This discharge lamp lighting device is provided with: an inverter circuit 8 for outputting high-frequency power; a resonant circuit comprising an inductor 14 connected to an output end of the inverter circuit 8 through a direct current cutting capacitor 15 and a resonating capacitor 17; the discharge lamp 16 connected in parallel with the resonating capacitor 17 of the resonant circuit; and the light emitting diode illumination body 20 connected in parallel with the direct current cutting capacitor 15.
