<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transfer device allowing mutual transfer of an isochronous packet among 63 or more apparatuses connected to different IEEE 1394 serious buses, and allowing addition, cutting off or the like of an apparatus to be carried out without interrupting transfer of the isochronous packet. <P>SOLUTION: This packet transfer device is provided with: an internal bus for transmitting the isochronous packets to different external buses; gate nodes for connecting the internal bus to the plurality of external buses and for exchanging the isochronous packet between its own external bus and the internal bus; a synchronization means for synchronizing a base time among the external buses; an offset means for adding an offset value to a time stamp. The isochronous packet is transmitted to the internal bus from the gate node on the transmission side after setting the base time identical; and, in the gate node on the reception side, the isochronous packet received from the internal bus is transferred to its own external bus by advancing or delaying it by a cycle of a transfer delay portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
