PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security medium test method and device, capable of stably performing in bulk data matching confirmation and separate data authentication of a security medium having visual separate data and secrete data which can be seen only by a transmitted light. SOLUTION: The goodness of a security medium by reading a test region 13 on which separate data and secrete data of the security medium 1 are formed using a reflected light for creating a reflected image, reading the test region 13 using the reflected light for creating a transmitted image, extracting the separate data and secrete data from the obtained reflected image and reflected image, and comparing the separate data and secrete data.
