PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger capable of precluding a noise emitted originating from a difference between the thermal expansion and contraction with different temperatures owing to changing-over of the flow passage for combustion gas. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger is equipped with a first manifold part 14 to admit influx of the combustion gas generated in combustion at a burner part 1, a plurality of heat exchange pipes 16 with one-side ends put in communication with the first manifold part 14 and admitting flowing-through of the combustion gas, a second manifold part 15 whereto the other ends of the heat exchange pipes 16 are in communication, and a capturing means 18 to gather the combustion gas from the heat exchange pipes 16 in the second manifold part 15 and guide it to the first exhaust path 17, and in the second manifold part 15, a bypass passage 25 is formed to send the combustion gas flowing to the second exhaust passage 27 having communication with an auxiliary heat exchanger 28 which does not pass the heat exchange pipes 16 but passes the periphery of the capturing means 18, wherein the second manifold part 15 is structured so that a heat exchange side plate 20 whereto the ends of the pipes 16 are fixed and an exhaust side plate 21 whereto the first exhaust passage 17 and the second exhaust passage 27 are fixed, are coupled together with the capturing means 18 pinched in between, which allows precluding noise emission certainly and allows the use with ease at all times.
