PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a joint device which can absorb a shock without the appearance of a gap, in the shock of earthquakes etc. SOLUTION: This joint device 1 comprises: one fixed panel 5 having almost half length of the right and left length of a joint part fixed to the wall face of the joint part side of one building at the rear end and positioned almost horizontally; a slidably positioned movable panel 6 whose back end overlaps a leading end of one fixed panel 5, and which has almost the same length dimension as one fixed panel 5; at least two central maintenance mechanisms 7 which are composed of a crank-like supporting piece 14 having a lower end fixed to the back end of the movable panel 6 and having upper end protruded in the upward direction of the almost central part of the movable panel 6, and a central maintenance link 20 which is slidably pivoted on a joint-part-side wall surface; and the other fixed panel 8 whose leading end overlaps a top surface of a leading end of the movable panel 6, whose slidably positioned back end is fixed to the joint-part-side wall surface of the other one of the right and left buildings, and which has the same size as one fixed panel 5.
