The lighting arrangement has a light source (1) positioned within a cavity formed in the interior (3) of an opaque body, such that light is visible at least from one point outside of the opaque body. A bore hole (4) is formed on the external wall (6) of the opaque body. A single-strand optical cable (5) is flush-fitted in the bore hole for connection to the light source in the opaque body. A bulb, a diode, or a glow lamp can be used as the light source in the opaque body according to the desired luminous intensity, geometrical and thermal conditions. A color filter is also arranged between light source and optical cable.
