<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the cost of an image forming apparatus body in an image forming system including a plurality of image forming apparatuses to form an image, based on image data. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing means is removed from the image forming apparatus, arranged in another place via a network, and shared by the plurality of image forming apparatuses. That is, each image forming apparatus comprises: a reader for reading an original; an I/F part 313 for transmitting the read image data to a high-speed communication network 404; and a common processing means 406 for processing the image data, which is transmitted to the high-speed communication network 404, in response to the respective image forming apparatuses.
