<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral equipment driver, a peripheral equipment controller and a method for installing a peripheral equipment control driver for installing a driver in a PC without making it necessary for a user to designate the machine type or option configuration of peripheral equipment. <P>SOLUTION: Only a program which is commonly available to all peripheral equipment is stored in a universal driver whose connection target peripheral equipment is not determined, and when the connection target peripheral equipment is determined, a dependent file stored in the peripheral equipment is acquired and loaded so as to prepare UI capable of setting function processing to be supported by the peripheral equipment, and to register it as a peripheral equipment driver unique to the peripheral equipment in an OS. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
