<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image verification device capable of automatically selecting and reducing images to be verified on a printed matter in which various fabrication and forgery preventive measures are applied and accurately and effectively verifying at high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The printed matter as a verified object is irradiated with one specific light among a plurality of light beams of different wavelengths. An optical image obtained from the printed matter by irradiating this specific light is acquired as an image, and this acquired image is analyzed. One light beam to be used to irradiate the printed matter is selected among the plurality of light beams in response to this analyzed result, this selected light beam is used to irradiate the printed matter, an optical image obtained from the printed matter by irradiating the light is acquired as a picture, and this acquired picture is displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
