TELEVISION RECEIVER HAVING LIMITER CIRCUIT FOR PREVENTING OCCURRENCE OF SMEAR PHENOMENON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver having a limiter circuit for preventing a smear phenomenon from occurring immediately after power is turned on. SOLUTION: A beam current flowing through a color Braun tube is detected, and the level of at least either the contrast or brightness of a picture signal is controlled, thus providing a power supply line to the limiter circuit for limiting a beam current flowing to the color Braun tube with a time constant circuit, and for delaying power supply to the limiter circuit. Hence, the television receiver is provided having the limiter circuit for preventing the smear phenomenon of a display screen from occurring immediately after power is turned on.
