PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label for printer which prompts use of a genuine label and allows the correct operation of a printer to be secured. SOLUTION: A label 10 for printer has a label piece 3, to which an adhesive 2 is applied, temporarily stuck to one surface 1a (front surface) of a long-sized release paper 1 and has a position detection mark 4 for the label piece 3 and a mark 5 showing a brand, displayed on the other surface 1b (rear surface) of the release paper, and variable information like a bar code resulting from coding characters or prescribed information is printed in the front surface of the label piece 3 by a printer omitted in Figure, and the label 10 is stuck to an object body (not shown in Fig.), by the adhesive 2 applied to the rear surface of the label piece 3. Since the label 10 for printer has the position detection mark 4 for the label piece 3 and the mark showing the brand displayed on the rear surface of the release paper 1, to which the label piece 3 is not temporarily stuck, other labels 10 for printer having the same shape are not supplied from other makers, and use of a genuine label is prompted.
