PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lifting of a shutter curtain when an opening of a building is totally closed. SOLUTION: There is provided a shutter device which has the shutter curtain 2 formed by vertically connecting together slats 1 each having an interlocking portion 7. The shutter device has lifting preventive members 15, 16 arranged on one side or both sides of the hanging-side slat when the opening is totally closed, and the lifting preventive members 15, 16 have engaging portions 152, 153, 163 for engaging with the slat. When the opening is fully opened, the engaging portions are separated from the slats wound on a winding shaft, and therefore they do not hinder opening/closing operation of the shutter in normal times. When the opening is totally closed, if the shutter curtain 2 is lifted, the hanging-side slat is distorted, and the interlocking portion 7 or planar portions 10, 11 of the slat engage with the engaging portions 152, 153, 163 of the lifting preventive members 15, 16, to thereby prevent lifting of the shutter curtain 2.
