PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging method and a packaging apparatus which enable the packaging of an article with a doubled film to reduce the occupying area of a film roll and film guide rollers, which makes a packaging apparatus compact as a whole, and the location of the film feeding side face of the film guide roller guiding the doubled film at the final stage below the center of a packaging section to feed out the doubled film smoothly. SOLUTION: According to the method and apparatus, a film roll 11 made by rolling up the doubled packaging film 11a is arranged in parallel with the transfer direction of the article 3. The packaging section 7 for packaging the article 3 includes an inner cylinder 14 and an outer cylinder 15. At least one film guide roller 12d, which guides the doubled film 11a fed out of the film roll 11 almost perpendicular to the transfer direction of the article 3, is supported pivotally below the packaging section 7, where the film feeding side face of the film guide roller 12d is located below the center of the packaging section 7.
