<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The accelerator pedal (1) may be moved from its idle portion to its maximum position through an angle (alpha). A sensor on the pedal sends a signal (S Ped) to an engine (5) control system (2). The control system gives a choice of accelerator characteristics (4), with reduced maximum power and linear increase in power from idle to maximum allowed power. #CMT# : #/CMT# It receives a vehicle and engine load signal (P max) from the transmission or other user element (3).
