<p>A direct-injection spark-ignition engine, comprising: a cylinder head (2) mounted on a cylinder plug (1) having an engine cylinder and a piston (3) defining a combustion chamber (4) by a cylinder wall of the cylinder plug (1), a bottom phase of the cylinder head (2) and a piston head of the piston (3), a spark plug (11) located at the center of the combustion chamber (4), an intake system for introducing intake air into the combustion chamber through an intake valve controlled intake port (7), a fuel injector valve (12) provided at a side wall portion of the combustion chamber and near an intake valve associated to the intake port (7), said fuel injector valve (12) injecting fuel directly into the combustion chamber (4), said induction system being adapted to create a tumble flow of intake air into the combustion chamber (4), comprising a tumble flow strengthening mechanism. <IMAGE></p> |
