An adhesion prophylaxis aid preventing post-operative adhesions contains >=3 (especially 3) components, >=2 of which are mutually crosslinkable to form a homogeneous gel-like mass, the components comprising (A) an aqueous especially viscous solution containing a polysaccharide, especially a carboxymethylcellulose (CMC); (B) an aqueous solution of >=1 crosslinker, especially a gel-former; and (C) an aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). An independent claim is also included for a kit containing >=1 of the components in separate containers.
