The device has a perforated plate (6) for applying ink from a cartridge on both sides of a paper strip to generate a printout on both sides of the strip as a virtual printout. A positioning device (4) positions the cartridge over a paper strip runner (1), which has an opening below the device (4). A cutting device behind the device (4) cuts the strip.
