The device has a grip jaw (31) including a driving arm that is pulled by a shoe while introducing the shoe into the device relative to a base plate (30). A radial wall (37) is linked with the grip jaw such that locking of the wall leads to locking of the jaw. A locking unit has a slope structure resting against a stop to lock the wall when the jaw attains retaining position of the shoe.
