The wooden cores 1 of the feet or spacer elements of a pallet are surrounded by a sheet 2 of flexible strong sheet material. The material may comprise a textile or plastic, metal foil or fibrous strips, but preferably consists of several layers of paper, kraft paper, or cardboard wrapped round the core in several layers which are glued together and to the core. The spacers are shown as secured to an upper platform 3 by nails 4 which run through the spacers to be clinched under a base 5, which may, however, be secured by separate nails from below. |
