[Also in Group XXX] In a lift truck (see Group XXX) flexible hoses 29, 30 connected between a supply point on the truck and the lifting carriage are rendered free from slack in all positions of the carriage by passing them over a fixed pulley 33 and a weighted pulley 34 mounted for sliding movement on a rod 37. The hoses 29, 30 feed a thruster 11 adapted to move the fork 6 laterally on the carriage, but in a modification (not shown) the fork is replaced by side grab arms actuated by a pair of thrusters, and the pulley system is duplicated. The feed to the thruster is effected by means of a rotary coupling 20, Fig. 6, secured to the carriage and comprising a sleeve 40 connected to hoses 29, 30 and rotatable around a plug 43 provided with bores 55, 56 communicating with the thruster through pipes 18, 19. |
