The invention relates to a transmitting/receiving device (30) for a component (31) of a motor vehicle that is connected to a communications network (34). The transmitting/receiving device (30) comprises at least one transmitting unit (1) for transmitting data over the communications network (34) and at least one receiving unit (20) for receiving data over the communications network (34). The communications network (34) serves to transmit data between the component (31) and other components (31) connected to the communications network (34). In order to ensure a reliable, efficient and interference-resistant communication between the different components (31) inside the motor vehicle, the invention provides that the transmitting/receiving device (30) comprises a number of transmitting units (1a, 1b,... 1m). Each transmitting unit (1a, 1b,... 1m) provides at least one separate channel for conducting data transmission over the communications network (34) and/or the transmitting/receiving device (30) comprises a number of receiving units (20a, 20b,... 20n). Each receiving unit (20a, 20b,... 20n) provides at least one separate channel for receiving data over the communications network (34).
