FIELD: ships provided with directional gyro and artificial horizon sets for determination of strain and angles of orientation at any point of ship being strained. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes recording strain by difference of readings at two triads of angular rate sensors spread in space by integrating the Euler's equations and correction of directional gyro and artificial horizon set, use of triads of accelerometers at point of use of angles of orientation, high-frequency multi-computer organization of signals from angular rate sensors with signals of orientation angles of directional gyro and artificial horizon set for frequencies of omega>=womegamin dyn, low-frequency correction of angles of orientation of directional gyro and artificial horizon set with the use of inertial circuits compensated by signals of external meter for frequencies of strain omega<omegamin dyn, where omegamin dyn is minimum frequency of dynamic strain. For trim and heel measuring circuits, omegamin dyn =1,24.10-3 c-1. Dynamic and static strain are estimated by Kalman filter. Determination of static strain only relative to vertical axis requires artificial or natural motions. ^ EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurements; simplified construction of equipment. ^ 2 cl, 1 dwg
