In the process for the selective hydrogenation of dienes in supply flows containing them, such a flow is hydrogenated on a nickel- containing precipitating catalyst at a temperature of between 40 and 100 .degree.C, a pressure of between 3 and 20 bar and a WHSV (weight hourly space velocity) of between 1 and 10 kg/(lxh) in the presence of free hydrogen.
