It is intended to improve processing suitabilities of antibacterial products such as fibers and films with the use of antibacterial compositions containing silver-based antibacterial agents such as silver ion-containing tetravalent metal phosphate-based antibacterial grains. Namely, an antibacterial composition containing grains of a tetravalent metal phosphate-based antibacterial agent and grains of an inorganic compound having Mohs hardness of 6 or smaller wherein the maximum grain diameters of these 2 types of grains are both 10 mum or less. Ag aQbM2(PO4)3.nH2 O (1) wherein Q represents at least one ion selected from the group consisting of alkali metal ions, alkaline earth metal ions, ammonium ion and hydrogen ion; M is a tetravalent metal ion; n is a value satisfying the requirement 0<= n<= 6; and a and b are each a positive value and m is the valence of Q, provided that a+mb=1. Moreover, antibacterial products containing such antibacterial compositions.
