A method for producing a ceramic structure comprises a step wherein a silicon carbide powder material added with a silicon metal and an organic binder is mixed and kneaded to prepare a body paste, a step wherein a green body is formed by shaping the thus-obtained body paste, a step wherein the green body is calcinated, and a step wherein the calcinated body (1) is placed on a layer composed of a fire-resistant fired powder (4) containing silicon metal and fired. Consequently, evaporation of silicon metal from the fired body can be suppressed, and the resulting fired body is prevented from adhering to the fire-resistant fired powder (4).
