<p>The desalination plant, designed to be connected to a thermal power station, has a series of distillation cells or effects (A, B, C, D, E), each with a closed chamber containing a flow unit (1) delivering a thin film of sea water to a heat exchanger (2), a steam feeder (3), condensed water and brine outlets (4, 5), and a thermal compressor. The latter comprises at least two ejection compressors (6a, 6b) that operate at different steam pressures and are mounted in parallel between the first effect (A) and one or more of the steam sampling effects (B - E). At least one of the ejection compressors operates at a preferable steam pressure of between 2 and 5 bars, and another at a pressure of 20 - 40 bars as they take in and compress steam from one or more of the different effects.</p> |
