PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct methanol fuel cell having a hydrogen ion conductive thin film (PCM), a catalyst contacting to the PCM, a gas diffusion layer contacting to the catalyst, and a conductive plate contacting to a gas diffusion thin film. SOLUTION: The gas diffusion layer includes a microporous thin film. The microporous thin film is made a microporous thin film, a microporous thin film laminate, or a skinned microporous thin film.
