PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrospray ionization mass spectrometer in which clogging of the ESI spray nozzle can be prevented with a simple structure and measurement for long time with high reliability is possible. SOLUTION: In an analysis mode, the spray nozzle 7 sprays sample solution and when the analysis mode is completed, it moves to a waiting cleaning mode. In the cleaning mode, cleaning of the nozzle 7 is started and after completion of cleaning, the nozzle 7 is moved to a cleaning position (inside the washing bottle 32) by a multi-dimensional jogging table 31. The tip of nozzle 7 is dipped in a washing liquid in the washing bottle 32. After dipping in the washing liquid and after elapsing a prescribed time, and measurement preparation for next sample is completed, the nozzle 7 is raised from the washing bottle 32 and is returned to an initial position of analysis mode. When the mass spectrometer is stopped operation for a long time, the nozzle 7 is left dipped in the washing liquid in the washing bottle 32, thereby, the nozzle is not dried up and deposit of crystal and adhesion of foreign matters or the like can be prevented.
