PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire and a wheel assembly in which generation of vibration and noise can be suppressed without considerably restricting a structure of a tire body. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 1 is assembled to a rim of a wheel W by a tire body 2, and mounted on a vehicle. The pneumatic tire 1 includes a vibration/noise detection unit 32 which is installed on the tire body 2 or the wheel W to detect the vibration/noise, a control unit 33 to generate the canceling signal based on the detected vibration/noise, and an oscillation unit 34 to generate the vibration or the sound wave based on the canceling signal. The pneumatic tire 1 cancels the vibration/noise generated from the tire body or the wheel by the vibration or the sound wave of the oscillation unit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
