PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet head in which ink liquid in each of a plurality of nozzles and ink channels can be kept at a uniform temperature, and liquid temperature in the ink channel can be controlled uniformly with high response with simple arrangement, and fluid resistance at a filter function section can be reduced without lowering filtration power of impurities, e.g. dust, at a filter function section. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises a plurality of nozzles for ejecting ink liquid in the form of a liquid drop, a plurality of individual liquid chambers holding ink liquid corresponding to respective nozzles, a partition constituting the individual liquid chambers, and a means for generating a pressure in ink liquid in the individual liquid chambers. Furthermore, substrate of the partition is formed of an electrothermal conversion material which generates heat when a current is supplied, and ink liquid in the individual liquid chambers is heated with heat generated from the partition when it is supplied with a current.
