PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to prevent a wraparound and an interruption of paint with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The coating apparatus is equipped with a pressure equalizing chamber 1 for introducing a paint, a paint jetting port 3 which extends in the width direction of a strip 100 in the pressure equalizing chamber 1 and which has a slit shape shorter than the width of the strip 100 and jets the paint in the pressure equalizing chamber 1, a pair of lips 4a and 4b which interpose the paint jetting port 3 between them and are arranged along the paint jetting port 3 extending in the opening direction of the paint jetting port 3 and made to abut on the strip 100.
