A safety frame for a double glazing system, e.g. for sliding doors and windows, has the panes (3) glued to each side of a spacer frame (1) leaving sufficient frame protruding to fit into a groove in the outer frame. This fitting can also be with adhesive and the outer frame forms a flush fitting with the outer faces of the glass panes. The spacer frame can have an inner duct (5) for electric cables, e.g. for servo drives or electronic glass dimming systems.
