<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition seal having both high chemical resistance and thermal processing property. <P>SOLUTION: A dynamic seal assembly installed between first and second relative rotating members comprises a fixed connection ring to the first member and an annular seal radially extending from the ring and disposed to be slidably connected to the second member. A radial seal comprises a thickness and a length of approximately 1 to 15 times the thickness. In various embodiments, the seal is formed of a rubber composition including vulcanized fluorocarbon elastomer dispersed in the matrix of a thermoplastic polymer material. In various embodiment, the matrix forms a continuous phase, and the vulcanized elastomer material is in a particle state forming a discontinuous phase. The composition can be prepared in a step for mixing a hardener, uncured fluorocarbon elastomer, and a thermoplastic material and a step for achieving the vulcanization of the elastomer material by heating a mixture while adding a mechanical energy to the mixture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
