<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology by which the time required for OPC processing or the like can be shortened in an optical disk unit having a recording and reproducing layer of a plurality of layers. <P>SOLUTION: After loading of an optical disk, in OPC processing at the first information recording, information recording is performed for first and second recording and reproducing layers respectively, and from its reproduced signal property, recording power or light emitting timing of each recording and reproducing layer is set, in OPC processing on and after second information recording, information recording is performed for the first recording and reproducing layer, recording power or light emitting timing of the first recording and reproducing layer is set from its reproduced signal property, and recording power or light emitting timing of the second recording and reproducing layer is obtained by calculation and set from the set recording power or light emitting timing and a recording power ratio of the first and the second recording and reproducing layers set at the first information recording or deviation quantity of light emitting timing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
