<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which can realize suppression of toner scattering by air current control with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A development sleeve 6B1 facing a photoreceptor 3B, a doctor blade 6B4 for regulating the layer thickness of a developer carried on the development sleeve 6B1, and a screw member 6B2 and 6B3 for agitating/conveying the developer in a development casing 6H are disposed in the development casing 6H. A pressure relief conduit 6S2 for communicatively connecting an area near the screw member 6B2 of the development casing 6H and the space right after the doctor blade 6B4 is formed. A negative pressure is generated by layer thickness regulation and scraping effect of a magnetic brush right after the doctor blade 6B4 and the pressure in the development casing 6H is relieved by the negative pressure and the inside of the development casing 6H is maintained in the negative pressure state, and thereby the toner scattering from an opening existing in the position of the development sleeve 6B1 can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
