<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering gear of a small-sized ship capable of returning its steering wheel and/or rudder to the neutral position without requiring labor of the user after the engine is stopped and performing the proper steering operation quickly at the time of emergency stop during running. <P>SOLUTION: The steering gear is equipped with a rudder turning device furnished with a main switch 23 to put on and off the power supply, an emergency stop switch 24 to put the engine in emergency stop, a ship speed sensor 25 to sense the running speed of the ship, the steering wheel 7 to be operated by a ship operator, a steering wheel operating amount sensor 9 to sense the operating amount of the steering wheel, and an electric actuator to give a working force for moving the rudder 3 round a rotary shaft in accordance with the sensed amount of steering wheel operation and a controller 12 to emit a signal for operating the actuator in accordance with the steering wheel operating amount, wherein the controller 12 drives the actuator of the rudder turning device 15 so as to return the rudder 3 to the neutral position when the engine is stopped by the main switch 23 or the emergency stop switch 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
