<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce glare to an oncoming car at changing light distribution. <P>SOLUTION: A nearly bowl shaped reflector 26, a light source 24 arranged at a first focus F1 of the reflector 26, a projection lens 28 arranged forward the reflector 26, a rotating shade 34 for light distribution control which is arranged in the vicinity of a second focus F2 of the reflector 26 and which shields a part of light reflected by the reflector 26 and moving toward the projection lens 28, and a motor to rotate the rotating shade 34 are provided. By adjacently arranging a light shielding part in the circumferential direction respectively corresponding to a high beam, a low beam, and the other beams at the rotating shade 34, and rotating the rotating shade 34 at a high speed by a stepping motor 58, occurrence of the glare to the oncoming car is prevented in switching the light distribution between the low beam Lo-R and the other beams (beam Wet-L for the rain, and beam MW-L for high speed drive). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
