<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use power of a battery by using two different power control modes. <P>SOLUTION: In this computer, a first power control mode wherein the battery 19 is used as a driving power source in a time zone designated by time information and a charging operation of the battery 19 by an external power source is stopped, and a second power control mode wherein the external power source is used as a driving power source in a period in which the external power source is connected and the battery 19 is used as a driving power source when the external power source is not connected are available. Thereby, for instance, in the first power control mode, the power of the battery can effectively be used in daytime or the like in which the power use reaches a peak; and for instance, when a user plans to go out carrying a PC, the PC can be taken out with the battery 19 kept in a fully charged state by using the second power control mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
