<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensitivity of each unit pixel by improving the converging rate of light made incident on each unit pixel by a photoelectric conversion element. <P>SOLUTION: In the pixel 1 of a solid state image pickup apparatus, a plurality of photodiodes 41-43 are formed on the upper surface of a semiconductor substrate 10, and color filters 51-53 are correspondingly formed on the upper part of respective photodiodes 41-43 one to one. As to light beams 15, 16 made incident to 1st and 2nd pixels C1, C2, a green (G) wavelength area of the light is transmitted through a selective transmission layer 60, and red (R) and blue (B) wavelength areas are reflected by the selective transmission layer 60. The green (G) wavelength area transmitted through the selective transmission layer 60 is made incident on the 2nd photodiode 42 through the 2nd color filter 52. On the other hand, the red (R) wavelength area out of the red (R) and blue (B) wavelength areas reflected by the selective transmission layer 60 is transmitted through the 1st color filter 51 and made incident on the 1st photodiode 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
