PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus realizing miniaturization, while securing high optical performance in a zoom lens system. SOLUTION: The zoom lens system TL includes at least a 1st lens group Gr1 having negative power and a 2nd lens group Gr2 having positive power, in this order starting from the object side, and is constituted so that space between the 1st and the 2nd lens groups Gr1 and Gr2 may be decreased in zooming from a wide angle end (W) to a telephoto end (T).
