PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide endless belt which is capable of suppressing the unevenness of resistivity while maintaining film thickness precision of a belt within an image region and, even when being used in an image forming apparatus for a long period, does not cause breaking and cracking, permits high image quality and also has high durability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the polyimide endless belt. SOLUTION: The polyimide endless belt used in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus has an image region and a non-image region. Therein, the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of film thicknesses within the image region is 10μm or less and the minimum value of the thickness of the non-image region is larger than the maximum value of the film thickness of the image region. In the method for manufacturing the polyimide endless belt, the volume contraction of a polyimide precursor coated film before and after the imidization is controlled so that the width-directional both end parts become larger than the width-directional central part and, therethrough, the non-image region near both end parts and the image region on the width-directional central part are formed.
