PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which prevents a generating element 2 from rocking in the battery case when the battery receives vibration and impact and prevents breakage of electrodes and short circuit by supporting the generating element 2 with a connecting conductor 3 with rigidity. SOLUTION: The battery houses a generating element 2, in which a positive and a negative electrode are overlapped through a separator in a metallic battery case comprising a battery container 1 and a lid plate 5. The generating element 2 has an aluminum foil 2a of the positive electrode protruding at one end part and a copper foil 2b of the negative electrode protruding at the other end part, and a connecting conductor 3 with rigidity is arranged connected to a positive electrode terminal 6 mounted on the lid plate 5 in the metallic battery case, and the protruded part of the aluminum foil 2a of the positive electrode of the battery element 2 is welded to this connecting conductor 3, and the protruded part of the copper foil 2b of the negative electrode is welded to the inside of the battery container 1.
